About the event
Join Trees Lexington and residents of Bainbridge Ct. to plant Kentucky native trees as a part of a community planting project to increase tree canopy in Council Districts 1, 2, and 7. Along with planting, the trees will receive their initial watering and mulching.
These trees will provide valuable shade and cooling as they mature, along with the many other benefits trees provide for us - a sense of place, beauty, food and habitat for songbirds and other wildlife, stormwater mitigation, and cleaner air, to name a few. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves if you have them. Instructions will be provided, no experience is necessary! After we finish the tree planting, we will celebrate with FREE FOOD for our awesome volunteers!
This event earns Tree Steward Training credits for tree planting. Tree Stewards are a trained and dedicated group of individuals committed to increasing tree canopy in Lexington, Kentucky.
